El domingo 23 y lunes 24 de febrero, tendrá lugar el evento Nordic Film Music Days 2020 en Berlín (Alemania), coincidiendo con la 70ª edición del Festival Internacional de Cine de Berlín – Berlinale (20 Feb-1 Marzo 2020), reuniendo a compositores de países del norte de Europa como Dinamarca, Finlandia, Islandia, Noruega y Suecia, durante el cual se presentará la 10ª edición del premio HARPA Nordic Film Composer Award.

Los nominados para el HARPA Nordic Film Composer Award 2020 son:

  • Kåre Bjerkø (Dinamarca) – Det som Göms i Snö
  • Panu Aaltio (Finlandia) – Luontosinfonia
  • Gyða Valtýsdóttir (Islandia) – Mihkel

La entrega de premios tendrá lugar el lunes 24 de febrero en el Auditorio del Felleshus de las Embajadas nórdicas/Nordische Botschaften en Berlín, como parte del Nordic Film Music Days.

  • 9:45 – 10:30 – Open pitch session – Composer: Put your best foot forward with a workshop on presenting yourself, your brand, and your music to a panel of music professionals.
    • Play 90 seconds of your best work to for the panel.
    • Introduce yourself to the panel with a short description of who you are and what your music is about.
    • Receive constructive feedback from music professionals on your presentation and music choice and how best to craft future pitch sessions for studio executives and filmmakers.

  • 11:45 – 12:30 – Ambitious case story – A career is something that you build; and build carefully. With do’s and don’ts, happenings and mishappening, and help along the way. But how do you choose a project – and how do you work with it? Meet: Hildur Gudnadottir Iceland/Germany Composer. ​Moderator: Kaisa Rönkkö Finland Executive Director Music Finland.
  • 12:30 – 13:00 – Lunch
  • 13:00 – 13:45 – Working Internationally – Danish Composer Flemming Nordkrog has composed the score for Brazilian ‘Shine Your eyes’ by Matias Mariani. The film will have its world premiere on February 21, 9PM, in the Berlinale Panorama selection. Meet: Flemming Nordkrog Denmark/France Composer – Matias Mariani Brazil/France Director.   • 14:00 – 14:30 – Agents, Managers & Composers – There was a day that Cinema & TV were the sole platforms for film composers to work and have a career, while today a great number of new audiovisual mediums exists where composers can apply their craft. With these new facts in place, how should composers navigate through the endless production of content in order to build a career for themselves? Meet Tuomas Kantelinen Finland Composer, George Christopoulos Greece Agent. Moderator: Thomas Mikusz Austria/USA Publicist at White bear PR
  • 14:45 – 15:30 – Cross over – Composers Performing – Composers often comes from a career as performing artists. And some of them succeed in running two parallel tracks: one as composer, and one as performer. But can you make sure that the two careers are enriching each other?   • 15:45 – 16:30 – Coercion in film music business – Finally Illegal – ​The international panel will look into the phenomenon of coercion in the film industry in light of the new EU law, which has made it illegal, and describe how it affects the stakeholders in the value-chain and the future of film in the EU.   • A celebration of Nordic film and mediamusic, and a celebration of the winner of the ​HARPA Nordic Film Composers Award 2020. With performance by Gyða Valtýsdóttir Iceland, SØS Gunver Ryberg Denmark and Davíð Þór Jónsson Host: Kate Havnevik Norway

MONDAY FEB 24th (20:00 – 22:00h) – AFTER PARTY

  • With Dj Einar Idsøe Eidsvåg, an Oslo based dj, who has been dj-ing for about 19 years, mostly in Norway, but also Denmark, Ireland and Sweden. ​Music has no borders.
