ISFMF 2022 – 10th edition in July & October

Sunday, 24th of July – Pula, Croatia

ISFMF presents Gladiator at the Pula Arena in Pula. This event will take place in the old Roman Amphitheater and will be awarding the festival’s Crystal Pine Award for Lifetime Achievement to Scott A. Millan – American sound re-recording mixer, a member of the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and Sound Director for Technicolor at Paramount Studios. He won 2 Academy Awards for Best Sound (Apollo 13 and Gladiator) and 2 Academy Awards for Best Sound Mixing (Ray, The Bourne Ultimatum). Scott A. Millan holds another 23 awards and 37 nominations. After the awarding ceremony the movie Gladiator will be screened for the first time in this outstanding location, a 2.000 years old Roman Amphitheater, on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of the film.

7th – 9th of October in Samobor, Croatia

In Autumn a special edition of the festival will take place in Samobor, the beautiful town also known as “little Venice”, where ISFMF was founded and had its first edition 10 years ago. The program will consist of awarding films screenings, film music concerts, art exhibition, masterclasses, and panels. The final concert on Sunday, 9th of October will honor the friendship between 2 countries – France and Croatia by presenting a new film music program: “Jean-Michel Bernard joue la musique Alfi Kabiljo”.

 

Jean-Michel Bernard, French pianist and composer, also Steinway artist, will perform an interpretation of Alfi Kabiljo‘s selection of pieces. Alfi Kabiljo is one of the best Croatian composers for film and theater. He was awarded by ISFMF the Crystal Pine Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2021. Recently he has been also awarded the Camille Award for Lifetime Achievement by ECSA (read more).

19th of October in Paris, France

The program “Jean-Michel Bernard joue la musique Alfi Kabiljo”, supported by the Croatian Ministry of Culture will also be performed by Jean-Michel Bernard in Paris on Wednesday, 19th of October for the official event celebrating 30 years of diplomacy between France and Croatia.
