Michael Giacchino will be present at the concert held tomorrow, Wednesday, 24th of July in Philadelphia (PA, USA), performed by the Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Gemma New, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing.

 

The concert, entitled ‘Voyage to the Moon: A 50th Anniversary Concert’, will be filled with popular classical favorites featured in the movies and film music, including a new piece composed especially for this occasion by Michael Giacchino: the third act of his concert work ‘Voyage’ named ‘Landing’.

 

The program will be the following:

  • GUSTAV HOLST – “Mars, the Bringer or War,” from The Planets, Op. 32
  • RICHARD STRAUSS – “Dawn,” from Also Sprach Zarathustra, Op. 30
  • JOHAN STRAUSS, JR. – “On the Beautiful Blue Danube” Waltz, Op. 314
  • RICHARD WAGNER – “O du, mein holder Abendstern,” from Tannhäuser
  • MICHAEL GIACCHINO – Voyage (I. Launch / II. Voyage / III. Landing)
