The American Society of Music Arrangers & Composers (ASMAC) presents today a free online event entitled ‘Big Band Hanginar: Jazz Composing, Arranging, and Scoring with Jeff Beal and Scott Healy’ where you will be able to join Jeff Beal and moderator Scott Healy for a deep dive into the world of jazz composing, arranging, and scoring using the language of jazz as the organizing idiom.
The conversation will cover Beal’s new film score for the recent Apple TV+ film ‘Raymond and Ray’ with music performed by Beal, John Patitucci, and Peter Erskine as well as a look at more of Jeff’s work for larger ensembles including a big band and jazz choir commission for the groundbreaking silent film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (as time permits).
