Festival de Cinéma et de Musique de Film de La Baule 2024 – 10ª edición

29/6/24 – 19h – Claude Lelouch – 60 years of career, 50 films – Tribute Concert

To mark Claude Lelouch‘s return to La Baule, the festival offers an exceptional tribute concert, a celebration of Francis Lai‘s melodic genius, with themes that have become part of our collective memory: Un homme et une femme, Vivre pour vivre, Un homme qui me plaît, Les Uns et les autres, Un plus une… not to mention a nod to Michel Legrand with the iconic Un parfum de fin du monde.

 

For the occasion, the Palais Des Congrès Atlantia La Baule stage will welcome the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire, conducted by Nicolas Guiraud, Francis Lai’s arranger, and joined at the piano by Randy Kerber, pyrotechnic American pianist, accomplice of John Williams or Barbra Streisand.

 

Spanning sixty years in an hour and fifteen minutes, this CinémasScope concert will take us on a whirlwind tour of the Laouchian epic. Balancing spectacular and intimate moments, it will be a declaration of love to music and image. Better still, it’s a celebration of the most enduring and timeless filmmaker-composer collaboration in the history of cinema.

27/6/24 – 12h – Meeting with… Vincent Delerm

A singer-songwriter who emerged at the crossroads of two centuries, Vincent Delerm is an enlightened cinephile who wasted no time in nurturing his songs with tributes to his idols, from François Truffaut to François de Roubaix, from Fanny Ardant to Claude Lelouch. His albums, concerts and film scores (for Michel Leclerc and Stéphane Brizé) are complemented by an original approach to images, as a photographer… and director of two singular documentaries, Je ne sais pas si c’est tout le monde and, this year, Le Cœur qui bat, radioscopie du sentiment amoureux. In short, Vincent Delerm will tell us about his triple culture as a man of notes, words and image(s).

28/6/24 – 12h – Meeting with… Franck Dubosc

Unclassifiable guarantee. Comedian, author, actor, screenwriter and director, Franck Dubosc has been churning out success after success for over 40 years (and already more than 70 films and TV movies!).

 

A true jack-of-all-trades, France’s youngest sexagenarian has had a most singular career. Before becoming the cult Patrick Chirac of Camping (and its sequels, for which he also co-wrote the screenplays), he was the pilot of the Bogdanoff brothers’ space shuttle in Temps X, Janine in Les petites annonces d’Elie and Julius Caesar in the French mega-production Asterix and the Olympic Games, to name but a few. A popular star on the big and small screens and on stage (he has written and starred in five critically acclaimed one-manshows), he is also a brilliant director and screenwriter, with two magnificent feature films to his credit, both funny and moving: Tout le monde debout (an intelligent comedy about the portrayal of disability, which sold over 2 million tickets) and Rumba la vie (a film about the relationship between a father and daughter, to be screened at the La Baule Festival in 2022), while his third feature film as director, Un ours dans le Jura, is due for release next year. In short, if you want to know everything (or almost everything) about this great Romantic (the title of one of his legendary One Man Shows), don’t miss this meeting with one of France’s favorite personalities.

A living legend of French and international cinema, Claude Lelouch will reveal his intimate link with music, or rather with music, from Francis Lai, his musical double, Michel Legrand… to Ibrahim Maalouf on his new film, Finalement. He’ll tell us how he thinks about music right from the writing stage, shoots to music… and lets it direct his actors:
