ISFMF 2026 – 14th edition of the festival in Varaždin in May

The veteran Croatian International Sound & Film Music Festival – ISFMF will celebrate its 14th edition on 21-24 May 2026 in Varaždin, Croatia, after last year’s successful edition in that same city for the first time (read more).

As you will already know from previous years, the festival hosts masterclasses, music performances, and also the Crystal Pine Awards competition, which by the way, is still open to submissions till May 1st.

Crystal Pine Awards categories include:

  1. Best Original Score | Feature Film – up to 15 nominations
  2. Best Original Score | Documentary Feature – up to 10 nominations
  3. Best Original Score | Short film (live-action, documentary, and animated) – up to 30 nominations
  4. Best Original Score | Series – up to 10 nominations
  5. Best Original Song | Feature Film – up to 10 nominations
  6. Best Sound Mixing/Editing – up to 10 nominations
  7. Crystal Pine for Best Picture (overall, a feature-length production) – up to 10 nominations
  8. Crystal Pine for Best Short (Live-Action, Animated or Documentary) – up to 10 nominations
  9. Best Music Video – up to 5 nominations
  10. Best Original Score | Video Games – up to 10 nominations
  11. Best Trailer Music – up to 10 nominations
  12. Horizon Award – up to 10 nominations
  13. Movie Influencer – up to 5 nominations
  14. Rising Star – up to 10 nominations
  15. Special Crystal Pine Award – up to 10 nominations
  16. Crystal Pine Award for Lifetime Achievement
  17. Special Crystal Pine Award – up to 10 nominations
