‘Fantasia’ in concert in London
Within the Festival of Film cycle, which we have already spoken about in previous news (see the label: Festival of Film), organized by the Royal Albert Hall in London, a new performance has been added: the projection of the best moments of the films Fantasia (1939) and Fantasia 2000 (1999) in giant screen with live music, on Monday, October 23rd in double session, at 1:30 p.m. and at 6:30 p.m..
The music will be in charge of the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra conducted by Jessica Cottis, making us enjoy iconic moments of both movies such as Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite and Ponchielli’s Dance of the Hours, with the great ballet of hippos, elephants, ostriches, and alligators, as well as Mickey Mouse as he dabbles in magic in Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
