MOSMA 2017 – Concerts Contents

Festival MOSMA (Movie Score Málaga) has announced the full program of the concerts to be held in its second edition, from July 5 to 9, with a total of 6 concerts in 5 days of programming and a pre-festival concert the day before.
The pre-MOSMA concert will be held on Tuesday, July 4 – 8:30 pm at the Cathedral of Malaga and will be named “The sacred and the divine: Music in religious and spiritual cinema”. In this concert, the Provincial Symphony Orchestra of Malaga, the University Choir and the Pre-university choir of Malaga will perform under the baton of Arturo Díez Boscovich, with Cristina Gallego Ruiz as soloist.
The program will be as follows:
Following, the first concert will arrive on Wednesday, July 5 – MOSMA Opening Concert – 8:30 pm at Teatro Cervantes, and will be named “Box Office Greatest Hits: Blockbusters in Film Music”. It will be performed by the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Arturo Díez Boscovich with the Ziryab Choir, and will have Óscar Senén & Tim Williams as guest conductors.
The second concert will be on Thursday, July 6 at 7:00 pm at the Echegaray Theater and will be named “Stranger Things and Mr Robot in concert“. It will be performed by the 3 Bit Band and Mac Quayle and will have the following program:
The third concert will also be on Thursday, July 6 at 10:00 pm at the Eduardo Ocón Facility, named “Gods and monsters, the music of Tyler Bates“, where Tyler Bates, film music composer and guitarist for Marilyn Manson, will play with his band in a free entry concert, pieces of his filmography in rock format and with the following program:
The fourth concert will be celebrated Friday, July 7 at 7:00 pm at the Echegaray Theater, named “David Shire at the Movies – MOSMA HONORED”, where David Shire will play at the piano themes from his CD “David Shire at the Movies”, accompanied by vocalist Sylvia Parejo with the following program:
The fifth concert will be on Saturday, July 8 at 8:00 pm at the Cervantes Theater and will be named “Legends: Great Masters in Film Music“. The concert will be performed by Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra and the Choir Ziryab, with David Shire at the piano, conducted by Arturo Díez Boscovich, with Trevor Jones, Deniz Cordell and Óscar Senén as guest conductors throughout the concert.
The sixth and final concert will be on Sunday, July 9 at 7:00 pm at the Echegaray Theater and will be named “Insert Coin: Music in Video Games“. It will be performed by the Provincial Symphonic Orchestra of Malaga conducted by Arturo Díez Boscovich with Neal Acree as guest conductor and the voice of Julie Elven (*).
