Movie ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers’ in concert in Bilbao [BRIEF SUMMARY]
Last night, the music that Howard Shore created for Middle-earth flooded the Palacio Euskalduna – Euskalduna Jauregia in Bilbao, with a performance of the film ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers‘ in concert.
The Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa conducted by Ben Phelps, with Grace Davidson (soprano), Xabier Soto (treble) and the Bilbao Choral Society: Coro Sinfónico (Enrique Azurza, conductor), Coro Euskeria (Urko Sangroniz, conductor) and Coro infantil (José Luis Ormazabal, conductor), brought to life the Oscar-winning music of Shore’s Ring trilogy in a fabulous way, endowing the film with a dimension and depth, unattainable only by images.
A packed Euskalduna Palace, with tickets sold out for weeks, welcomed and applauded the approximately 200 people on stage, who, for 3 hours, made us enjoy, vibrate, feel, and understand much better, the complex and fabulous work of J. R. R. R. Tolkien, through a wonderful direct dialogue with the audience, as only music knows how to establish.
We can only hope that the BOS – Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa will soon program the third and last installment of this trilogy, which we have no doubt will be as well received in Bilbao as the first two parts, which have overflowed with artistic and interpretative quality.
