‘Assassin’s Creed Symphonic Adventure’ in Luzern – City Light Concerts

After highly acclaimed performances in Paris, Barcelona, Cologne and recently in London, “Assassin’s Creed Symphonic Adventure” is coming to Switzerland for the first time as a large-scale orchestral spectacle. Experience the epic music from the legendary video game series live in the concert hall of the KKL Luzern!

 

In 2007, the bartender Desmond Miles conquered the screens. In the first part of the action-adventure video game “Assassin’s Creed”, Miles is kidnapped by a modern Templar organization. Using a machine called the Animus, he has to go through the genetic memories of his ancestors, who belonged to the Assassin Brotherhood. Since 2007, Assassin’s Creed players have been traveling through time – to Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, Florence and Rome in the Renaissance era, the Caribbean during the golden age of piracy and the Chinese Empire.

 

Over the past 15 years, the “Assassin’s Creed” series has become one of the most popular video game brands, known for its diverse and captivating stories and spectacular recreations of the worlds in which players can make history their very own playground.

 

All these actions, places and eras have been translated into versatile music for orchestra, choir and vocal soloists by composers such as Jesper Kyd, Lorne Balfe, Brian Tyler, Sarah Schachner and Austin Wintory. Fast-paced action music with thrilling rhythms alternating with lyrical and mysterious moments are always colored by Far Eastern sounds, Caribbean percussion, pirate songs and folkloristic elements – each part of the “Assassin’s Creed” series has its very own musical identity.

 

With “Assassin’s Creed – Symphonic Adventure”, produced by Overlook Events and the Ubisoft creative team, the music moves into the spotlight. While the 70-piece City Light Symphony Orchestra with the 50 singers of the City Light Vocal Ensemble and the men’s voices of the Boys Choir Lucerne under the direction of Kevin Griffiths play the music from the various soundtracks, video game clips are shown on the big screen in time with the music. A newly composed concert overture by Jesper Kyd, the musical mentor of the “Assassin’s Creed” series, will also kick off the event.
