On Wednesday, June 12th, a special concert entitled ‘ComposHER’ will be celebrated at the EartH Theatre (Evolutionary Arts Hackney, London, UK), highlighting, showcasing, and celebrating women composers for film, TV, and video games.
The concert will include music from Jessica Curry, Nainita Desai, Imogen Heap, Jessica Jones, Alev Lenz, Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch, Anne Nikitin, Carly Paradis, Jocelyn Pook, Kate Simko, Claire M Singer, and Amelia Warner and will be performed by the London Contemporary Orchestra.
Many of the performances will be introduced or accompanied by the composers themselves, having a 2-hour concert separated into two halves, with music from all areas of visual media, to encompass the diverse nature of the British industry, showcasing works for film, TV, theatre, and video games.
The concert also aims to inspire the next generation of composers, and follows work in 2018 to establish a global database of women composers (on FreeTheBid.com), and a UK women composers’ forum, enabling them to support and empower each other.
This concert will be celebrated thanks to Spitfire Audio, ASCAP, P&G, Manners McDade, Production Music Awards, WMP Studios, Alliance for Women Film Composers, shesaid.so, SHE Choir and LCO.
