Today, Saturday, a concert entitled ‘The Music of John Barry’ will be celebrated in Manchester, to pay tribute to the life and work of John Barry, who would have turn 85 years last week, and who created some of the most memorable and recognizable film scores of the 20th century, including of course, much of the music from the James Bond series.

Nicholas Dodd, one of the leading conductors and orchestrators of Hollywood film music, who collaborated closely with the composer on his later films, will conduct the Manchester Camerata, to perform a carefully selected program with the following works: You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Diamonds are Forever, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Octopussy, Thunderball, Born Free, Midnight Cowboy, Out of Africa, Dances with Wolves and Zulu.

The evening will be presented by Film, TV and radio connoisseur Andrew Collins.
