Festival Musimagem Brasil, which is celebrating its 9th edition from December 4 to 10, offered yesterday, Saturday, December 9, several free online conferences with Peter M. Bernstein, Catherine Joy, Heather McIntosh & Allyson Newman.

 

Among them, we would like to highlight the conference dedicated to film music festivals and their cultural diversity with Gorka Oteiza (SoundTrackFest), which had the special participation of Diego Navarro (Fimucité).

  • Spanish journalist Gorka Oteiza talks about his experience covering festivals in diverse locations such as Brazil, Spain, the Czech Republic, Germany, and the encounter with the diversity of cultures, composers, and audiences gathered around film scoring.

  • 3:00 PM – Panel Discussion: Parents and Sons in the World of Film Scores
  • Renowned American composer and conductor Peter M. Bernstein, known for his music in numerous films and series, including “Ewok Adventure,” as well as orchestrator for films like “Ghostbusters,” and the video “Thriller” with Michael Jackson, and Brazilian composer Marcos Souza, will discuss their careers and the work of their parents, Elmer Bernstein and Chico Mário.

  • 8:00 PM – Lecture: Plinio Profeta and His Work
  • Plinio Profeta is a musician, film score composer, and music producer. He has won the Best Original Soundtrack award from the Brazilian Academy of Cinema twice, for “O Palhaço” in 2011 and “O Filme da Minha Vida” in 2018. Early in his career, Profeta won a Latin Grammy for producing Lenine’s album “Falange Canibal.”
