The LA Phil provides music students the opportunity to discover more about film music, used to enhance the movie experience for as long as movies have been shown.
Host and celebrated Composer Michael Giacchino together with the LA Phil, will show how music from throughout history (from Ravel to Spiderman) can have a unique place in telling a story, with two free concerts for music students in Secondary schools, grades 6-12 in Los Angeles.
These concerts, entitled ‘Film Music With Michael Giacchino’, will also feature young composers from the program, who are developing their own styles of scoring films.
