The Game Developers Conference – GDC 2018, which is being held from March 19-23 at the Moscone Center of San Francisco (California, USA), will host two panels today March 22nd dedicated to video games music.

 

The first panel, called ‘Demo Derby: Music’, will be held from 11:30am till 1:30pm, and is a special panel where attendees can submit 60 seconds of their best work for a detailed critique and feedback from a team of leading professionals, participating later in an active discussion with fellow panelists and audience members.

In attendance: Composers Garry Schyman, Penka Kouneva, Wilbert Roget II, Guy Whitmore and music director Jason Hayes.

The second panel, called ‘Composer Confessions Microtalks 2: More Massive, Often Painful Lessons Learned’ will be held from 4:00pm till 5:00pm, where six veteran composers will share stories of lessons they learned in the professional trenches; lessons which are not typically highlighted in school.

In attendance: Composers Austin Wintory, Laura Karpman, Peter McConnell, Gareth Coker, Gordy Haab and audio director Darren Korb.
