The British composer and pianist Michael Nyman, who will be receiving at the end of the month the Wojciech Kilar Award at the Krakow Film Music Festival (read more), will perform next Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd May in Seville and Zaragoza respectively, along with the Michael Nyman Band.

The concerts will be centered on the documentary film “War Work: 8 Songs With Film Concert” directed by Michael Nyman, that was designed around footage sourced from French, German and American First World War film archives, to which Nyman has crafted an eloquent song cycle to film, presented in two groups of four songs, each preceded by several instrumental movements. There is no voice-over during the film, allowing the potency of the images in combination with the music to take the stage.
