Today, Saturday, August 24th, Ruben Smit’s documentary movie ‘Wad (2018)’ will be premiered at the Festival Noorderzon in Groningen (Netherlands), with Martin Fondse’s soundtrack performed live by the 42-piece Noordpool Orkest conducted by Reinout Douma.

 

More than half of the scenes have never been shown before, and the Noordpool Orkest has created new music that will be played live especially for this production, in a new musical dramaturgy with a lot of room for improvisation.

 

The show ‘Wad Live’ is a musical film homage to the raw and pure beauty of the Dutch Wadden region, where the audiences will be able to see how the fauna and flora has adapted to the survival on the border of water and land, narrated live by director Ruben Smit in a unique film concert experience.

 

This premiere will be part of a total of 20 concerts to be celebrated in the following months, till December 2019. More information about ‘Wad Live’ tour:
