Chinese Oscar-winning composer Tan Dun, internationally known for his scores for martial arts movies that mixed Chinese folkloric instruments with elements of avant-garde Western classical music, and who also composed music for the medal ceremonies at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, will conduct the London Symphony Orchestra next Thursday 30th of November at the Barbican Hall in London.

The concert, named “Tan Dun – The Martial Arts Trilogy”, will include suites from his stirring scores for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Ang Lee), Hero (Zhang Yimou) and The Banquet (Feng Xiaogang), accompanied by visuals from the films.
