The RTÉ Concert Orchestra conducted by Stephen Bell, with vocalists Tim Howar and Juliette Crosbie, presents a special night of Movies & Musicals Live, to mark its 75th anniversary. Three shows, held in Dublin, Waterford, and Limerick in Ireland, presented by Aedín Gormley from RTÉ lyric fm.
The best music from the worlds of film and musical theatre has been a central part of the orchestra’s eclectic repertoire over the years so what better way to celebrate the anniversary than to invite Aedín Gormley to bring to life her award-winning RTÉ lyric fm radio show Movies and Musicals. Music from MGM classics Singin’ in the Rain and An American in Paris, Rodgers and Hammerstein evergreens The Sound of Music and South Pacific, from West Side Story to Wicked, John Williams and John Barry, Elmer Bernstein and Ennio Morricone, Disney and Pixar’s Frozen, The Incredibles, and Beauty and the Beast right up to Dear Evan Hansen and Mary Poppins Returns.
