Para ello, el festival de cine de Tabernas contará con la presencia de su biógrafo, amigo y discípulo Alessandro de Rosa que recogerá este galardón en una ceremonia que se presenta con un formato renovado.
Será una gala diferente e inédita hasta el momento, ya que se inaugurará un cementerio permanente que congregará las tumbas de todos los profesionales reconocidos con este premio desde el año 2016. Al atardecer, los asistentes podrán contribuir cavando, encendiendo velas y arrojando objetos en recuerdo del compositor italiano. Al mismo tiempo un cuarteto de cuerda de la Orquesta Ciudad de Almería (OCAL) interpretará temas de sus películas.
El homenaje terminará con la proyección al aire libre en la plaza de Oasys MiniHollywood de la película de Sección Retrospectiva ‘Agáchate Maldito’ (Sergio Leone, 1971) de la que se cumplen 50 años.
Tomorrow Friday, October 8 at 18:00h, and during the opening gala of the 11th edition of Almeria Western Film Festival (AWFF) (October 8-11), the figure of the Italian composer Ennio Morricone (Rome, 1928-2020) will be honored with the ‘Leone in Memoriam’ award that will be granted at the Oasys MiniHollywood village of Tabernas (Almeria, Spain).
The Festival will have the presence of his biographer, friend, and disciple Alessandro de Rosa who will collect this award in a ceremony that is presented with a renewed format.
It will be a different and unprecedented gala so far, as a permanent cemetery will be inaugurated that will congregate the graves of all the professionals recognized with this award since 2016. At sunset, attendees will be able to contribute by digging, lighting candles, and throwing objects in memory of the Italian composer. At the same time a string quartet from the Orquesta Ciudad de Almería (OCAL) will perform themes from his films.
The tribute will end with the outdoor projection in the square of Oasys MiniHollywood of the movie ‘Duck, You Sucker!‘ (Sergio Leone, 1971) on its 50th anniversary.
