Japanese TV channel NHK, broadcast the last 17th of February a special program entitled ‘The Songs of Studio Ghibli’ to celebrate the 30th anniversary in 2018 of the movies My Neighbor Totoro and Grave of the Fireflies, featuring also a tribute to the late Isao Takahata, who passed away last year.


The program gave an up-close look at some of the studio’s most famous films created by Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, along with songs performed by popular J-pop stars and artists who have worked with Studio Ghibli over the years, including the performances of Joe Hisaishi, Daisuke Yokoyama, Kazumi Nikaido, King & Prince, Little Glee Monster, Miu Arai and Ryu Goto.
