Concert ‘Lynn Harrell: In Remembrance’ with John Williams, Anne-Sophie Mutter, and Musical Friends

Tomorrow, Tuesday, September 21st, 2021, a special concert celebrating the life of the legendary American cellist Lynn Harrell, who died suddenly in 2020, will be held at the Royce Hall on the UCLA campus (University of California – Los Angeles).

This special evening will be under the musical direction of composers and conductors John Williams and William Ross, and cellist/conductor Samuel Cristler.

This live concert features Grammy winner violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter and American soprano Christine Brewer as well as Grammy-nominated operatic baritone Rodney Gilfry. Pianist Yefim Bronfman appears by way of video.

Many Los Angeles-based musicians and talent, whom Harrell mentored and partnered with, will perform in the intimate celebratory tribute organized by Lynn Harrell’s widow, the violinist Helen Nightengale and the Lynn Harrell Foundation.

 

Proceeds from the benefit will go to the newly formed Lynn Harrell Foundation, which supports talent throughout the classical music field in the areas of education, research, performances, and individual artist development.

 

Tickets range from $ 18 (students), $ 90 (Full Price) to $ 486 (VIP Ticket).
