“Hello all. I’ve had a lot of questions about the upcoming Coachella show that was recently announced. It’s a little hard to describe, as it’s something I’m just putting together now. But I can say a few things about what it is and isn’t.

First, just to make it clear, it is *not* an Oingo Boingo reunion. The show is called “Danny Elfman: Past, Present and Future! From Boingo to Batman and Beyond!” So essentially what that means is I’m creating a live mix of my last 40 years— both film music and songs.

Without being too specific I can only say that includes my Boingo years, my composer years and a few things I’ve been working on for the last year or so, which will be world premieres.

I’ve had this idea for a while of how the crazy extremes in my life might all work together on a live stage. If nothing else, it should prove to be interesting.

I will be singing, for sure. The audience will feel the presence of Boingo, Jack Skellington and… yes… even Buddy! And a few surprises that with any luck might blow a few people’s minds… or make them very angry with me… or both.

Of course, if anyone is angry with me I’ll immediately blame it all on Buddy. That’s why he’s there, you know!

Much love to all. I hope to see you there. I promise you this: it will be quite insane!”

This is not the first time Coachella Festival includes a film music composer in its lineup, as they had the stellar performance of Hans Zimmer in 2017:
