Howard Shore at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam (IFFR) – Concert and Masterclass
The 49th edition of the International Film Festival of Rotterdam (IFFR), celebrated in Rotterdam (Netherlands) from 22-Jan till 2-Feb 2020, will pay homage to composer Howard Shore’s groundbreaking talent for composition with a special screening of David Cronenberg’s Crash (1996) in the ‘de Doelen’ venue on Friday, January 31st, 21:00h, accompanied live by the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Mike Schäperclaus.

On Saturday, February 1st, a public masterclass will be celebrated, in which Howard Shore will discuss his modus operandi and oeuvre, his collaboration with directors such as Cronenberg, and his views on film music.

Previous to that, on Wednesday, January 29th, Howard Shore will give a private masterclass about his work and the art of scoring for 20 composers, in an event that has the collaboration of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) and Buma Music in Motion (BMIM), who are committed to making ever more and deeper connections between young filmmakers and the music sector.
