Filmmusiktage Sachsen-Anhalt 2022 – 15th edition

Filmmusiktage Sachsen-Anhalt congress celebrates its 15th edition on October 23-29, 2022 at the Mitteldeutsches Multimediazentrum Halle, in Halle, Germany with a program full of panels, masterclasses, and a gala concert.

Filmmusiktage Sachsen-Anhalt 2022 - 15th edition

This year’s film music congress’ motto “Soundtrack of Life” seeks answers to the question “What is the significance of music in different stages of life and in a life’s work?” in very different ways. On the one hand, it is about biographical feature films (biopics), in which the music of the film accompanies the life story of the main character, or also about coming-of-age films, whose soundtrack reflects the attitude towards life of their protagonists. On the other hand, the musical life of successful film composers will be the focus, as well as the first steps of young film composers on their way to professionalism.

The thematic lectures will be complemented by a look behind the scenes of current film productions in the workshop discussions, “close-up” encounters with renowned film composers and the interactive film music discussion format “Glimpse”.

The festival will end with a gala concert on Saturday, Oct 29 at the Händelhalle, where the Staatskapelle Halle, under the proven direction of Bernd Ruf, and together with the voice of star soloist Jessica Gall, will bring classical and new film music to the stage. However, not only popular film scores will be performed, but also brand new compositions by the master class participants. Tickets (25-40 €):
