GEMS Film Score Summer Program 2021 with Pete Anthony and the RTVE Orchestra
Next Monday, starts the 5th edition of the summer program for composers organized by GEMS (Global Entertainment Music Mentors), which will be held from July 5 to 12, 2021 in Madrid (Spain), spearheaded by its director Nigel Ashley Lees.
The program covers the entire creative arc for scoring for film and visual media, starting with an Orchestration Program with Pete Anthony, followed by a Bootcamp, Composition, and Score Preparation program with Juanjo Molina & Francesco Menini, to conclude with a massive 40-piece orchestral recording with the Symphonic Orchestra of Spanish Radio Television RTVE.
On July 5-8, Pete Anthony will teach a 4-day orchestration program, including a score review of a composition of the students before the orchestral recording. Participants are taught orchestration skills, given assignment challenges, and receive reviews of their work.

On July 9-11, a Bootcamp, Composition, and Score Preparation program will be held with Juanjo Molina & Francesco Menini, where participants will discuss composition principles and will prepare their scores for the recording sessions.

The main event will be on July 12th, with a 40-piece orchestral recording of each of the participants’ works, performed by the Symphonic Orchestra of Spanish Radio Television RTVE conducted by Juanjo Molina at the Teatro Monumental in Madrid.

This year the course can be taken either online or in person, with the possibility of combining both options.
