Goya Awards 34th edition – Nominees

On Monday, December 2nd, the nominations to the 34th edition of the Goya Awards, often called the Spanish “Oscars”, were announced.

 

Organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain, they have the purpose of rewarding the best professionals in each of the different specialties of the sector, both technical and creative.

 

While at War is the film with the most options in the awards with 17 nominations, among them the Best Film and Best Direction, with Pain and Glory following closely with 16 nominations and The Endless Trench with 15 nominations.

 

Divided into a total of 28 categories, we highlight the following:

Best original music/score

  • Arturo Cardelús – Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles
  • Alberto Iglesias – Pain and Glory
  • Pascal Gaigne – The Endless Trench
  • Alejandro Amenábar – While at War

 

Best original song

  • Javier Ruibal – Intemperie (Movie: Out in the Open)
  • Caroline Pennell, Jussi Ilmari Karvinen (Jussifer), Justin Tranter – Invisible (Movie: Klaus)
  • Toni M. Mir – Allí en la arena (Movie: The Innocence)
  • Sergio de la Puente – Nana de las dos lunas (Movie: La noche de las dos lunas)

The gala will be held on Saturday, January 25th, 2020 at the Palacio de Deportes José María Martín Carpen in Malaga (Spain), where in addition to the awards, the Honorary Goya will be presented to the actress and singer Pepa Flores – Marisol.
