Goya Awards 38th edition – Nominations
Today, Thursday, November 30th, the nominations to the 38th edition of the Goya Awards, often called the Spanish “Oscars”, have been announced. Organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain, they have the purpose of rewarding the best professionals in each of the different specialties of the sector, both technical and creative.
20.000 especies de abejas, by Estibaliz Urresola, and the Society of Snow, by J.A. Bayona, are the favorites at the 38th edition of the Goya Awards to be held on February 10 in Valladolid, with a total of 15 and 13 nominations, respectively, including the main categories. They are followed by Víctor Erice’s Cerrar los ojos and David Trueba’s Saben aquell, both with 11 nominations, while Isabel Coixet’s Un amor is up for seven awards.

For the second year, all categories of the awards have five nominations. Director of photography, film restorer, and researcher Juan Mariné will receive the Honorary Goya.
Ana Belén, Javier Ambrossi, and Javier Calvo will present the gala to be held on February 10 in Valladolid, Spain. Before that, the traditional meeting of nominees will take place on December 18, 2023 in Madrid.
