Joe Hisaishi – Symphonic Concerts – Paris 2024
Japanese composer and pianist Joe Hisaishi will conduct two concerts of his music in Paris in April 2024.
Organized by U-Go&Play, “Joe Hisaishi in symphonic concert: music from Hayao Miyazaki’s Studio Ghibli films” celebrates the collaboration between genius composer Joe Hisaishi and legendary director Hayao Miyazaki (who won an Oscar for his 2002 animated film Spirited Away). Friends and collaborators for over 30 years, Hisaishi and Miyazaki have worked together on ten films – considered true masterpieces of animation – for the iconic Studio Ghibli.
After a triumphant tour in 2022 (read more), Joe Hisaishi returns for two unique dates in France, on April 6 and 7, 2024 at the Paris Défense Arena. On this occasion, he will conduct the 250 musicians and choristers of Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London as they perform his greatest themes, including those from Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Castle in the Sky, Spirited Away and many others…
During more than 2 hours of symphonic concert, you will have the chance to immerse yourself in the imaginary world of Studio Ghibli, with film extracts projected on giant screens, breathing new life into the timeless work of Hisaishi and Miyazaki.
