John Williams tribute concert – London Symphony Orchestra
On Saturday November 26th at 7:30pm, a tribute concert to John Williams will be held at the Barbican Hall in London, named The Best of John Williams, performed by the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO), and that this time will be directed by German conductor Frank Strobel.
The collaboration between the LSO and John Williams is more than 40 years old, when they recorded the first soundtrack together for Fiddler on the Roof (1971) and then reached a highlight with Star Wars (1977), having collaborated since then in many of his iconic scores such as Superman (1978), Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Schindler’s List (1993), or the entire Star Wars saga (for which unfortunately he could not record Episode VII past year with the LSO due to health reasons).
The concert, with all tickets sold-out already (although it could be possible to get some resale-second hand tickets), will feature an introduction video-message from John Williams recorded especially for the occasion, who will also personally present each piece before being performed.
The schedule for the evening (with a duration of approximately 2h) is as follows:
