The Krakow Film Music Festival, celebrating its 18th edition on May 26th-June 1st, 2025, has announced the finalists of the Jan A.P. Kaczmarek Award – DREAMER: Fryderyk Lutyński, Aleksandra Chmielewska, Aleksander Pankowski vel Jankowski, Dominika Czajkowska-Ptak, and Jan Sanejko.

Meet the finalists of the Jan A.P. Kaczmarek Award – FINDING NEVERLAND!

 

Exactly one year ago, during the moving FMF Polish Gala: Modern Roots, we promised to cultivate the legacy of Jan A.P. Kaczmarek. Today, on the symbolic anniversary of that evening and the day of the Maestro’s farewell, we present the first finalists who will compete for the Jan A.P. Kaczmarek Award – FINDING NEVERLAND:

  • Fryderyk Lutyński
  • Aleksandra Chmielewska
  • Aleksander Pankowski vel Jankowski
  • Dominika Czajkowska-Ptak
  • Jan Sanejko

 

They are artists of the new generation who already impress with their sensitivity, originality and unique musical language.

 

Meet them in person on Saturday, May 31 at 12:00 PM during the FMF Audiovisual Forum at Fabryczna 13 Conference Center, where they speak about their journey, completed projects and dreams during their final presentations. Free entry!

 

The winner will be selected by the Award Council and announced later that day during the FMF International Gala.

The Jan A.P. Kaczmarek Award – FINDING NEVERLAND is a program created for young film music composers who are ready to take the next step toward a professional career.

This distinction honors the legacy of an outstanding composer while offering a unique opportunity for emerging talents who are just beginning to shape their paths in the world of film music. We are looking for those ready to turn their dreams into concrete artistic projects.

The laureate will receive:

PLN 20,000 to compose music for a film

Industry accreditation for top festivals: the 18th Krakow Film Music Festival, the 50th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, and the 65th Krakow Film Festival

Mentoring, networking, and an opportunity to present your work at the Krakow Film Music Festival

Direct contact with industry professionals – directors, producers, and fellow composers

This Sunday, May 18, is the last day to submit applications for the The Jan A.P. Kaczmarek Award – FINDING NEVERLAND, granted to young film music creators ready to take the next step in their careers.

The winner will be selected by the Award Council, composed of outstanding figures of Polish film and music culture, representing various creative communities: composers, directors, producers, and cultural institutions.
