‘Prague Proms 2017’ with Danny Elfman, Vladimir Cosma & Carl Davis

International music festival “Prague Proms“, which is already in its 13th edition and that will be held from June 21st to July 29th, 2017 in Prague (Czech Republic), will dedicate a good part of its concerts to film music, having exceptional guests such as: Danny Elfman, Vladimir Cosma and Carl Davis.

 

On Wednesday June 21st – 7:00 p.m. at the Smetlana Hall in the Municipal House of Prague, a world premiere concert for strings and orchestra will be performed, composed expressly by Danny Elfman for the festival and the violin soloist Sandy Cameron, with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of John Mauceri and the CNSO Mixed Choir.

The concert will also have film music pieces, with the presence of Danny Elfman, who will perform some of them on stage.

On Monday July 10th – 7:00 p.m. at the Smetlana Hall in the Municipal House of Prague, a thematic concert on the music of Vladimir Cosma will be held, to be performed by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and conducted by the composer himself, with a program yet to be determined.

On Wednesday July  19th – 7:00 p.m.  at the Smetlana Hall in the Municipal House of Prague, the concert “Not Just A Hollywood Night” will be held, closing Prague Proms festival, in which the Czech National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Carl Davis and with the CNSO Mixed Choir, will perform film music in a tribute to the productions of European film studies such as Cinecitta, Bavaria and Gaumont.
