Špilberk International Music Festival 2023 – Film & Video game music concerts
The Špilberk International Music Festival 2023, to be celebrated on August 20-27, will present in its program a film music concert dedicated to the movies of Jean-Paul Belmondo and a video game music concert dedicated to ‘Kingdom Come: Deliverance’.
Špilberk International Music Festival is a traditional open-air music festival, which annually brings unforgettable musical evenings in the large castle courtyard to the inhabitants and visitors of Brno, Czech Republic. In addition to large symphonic works, it also offers connections with other genres under the summer sky, and thus tries to make classical music accessible to those who might not otherwise be able to access it.
Reviens Bével! – Jean-Paul Belmondo
On Sunday, August 20 at 20:00h, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Marcello Rota will present the concert ‘Reviens Bével!’ dedicated to the music of the movies starred by Jean-Paul Belmondo, with scores by Claude Bolling, Philippe Sarde, Michel Colombier, Georges Delerue, Vladimir Cosma, or Ennio Morricone among others.

“Who wouldn’t know Jean-Paul Belmondo, the tough guy whose disdainful eyes, boxer’s nose, sensual lips and cynical gaze made him an icon of French cinema. The CNSO with conductor Marcello Rota (nephew of the famous Italian film composer Nino Rota) will recall the melodies from the immortal “Belmonds” films Hold-up (music by Serge Franklin), The Man from Rio (Georges Delerue), Cop or Hood (Philippe Sarde), Le Marginal, The Night Caller, The Professional (Ennio Morricone), The Man from Acapulco (Claude Bolling) etc.”

Kingdom Come: Deliverance
On Sunday, August 27 at 20:00h, a concert dedicated to the music of the successful computer medieval game ‘Kingdom Come: Deliverance’ created by Warhorse studio from Prague, will be performed by the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by the author of the music Jan Valta.
