Prague Proms 2020 – James Newton Howard & Carl Davis

• Sunday, June 21 – 20h – Open Air – The Best of James Bond – The music of James Bond will return to Prague with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Steven Mercurio, in a free Open Air concert to be celebrated at the Old Town Square, to kick-off Prague Proms festival with music from the movies Casino Roy­ale, Live and Let Die, Gold­finger, Sky­fall and plenty more.

• Tuesday, July 7 – 19h – James Newton Howard Live in Concert – Composer James Newton Howard will conduct the Czech National Symphony Orchestra at the Municipal House, Smetana Hall; the same orchestra that he toured with across Europe in 2017 (read more). The program will include music from The Hunger Games, Pretty Woman, The Prince of Tides, The Dark Knight, King Kong, The Sixth Sense, Fantastic Beasts Where to Find Them, or Maleficent among others.

 

In James Newton Howard’s words: “I am excited to return to Prague with The Czech National Symphony. The concerts in 2017 were unforgettable. After spending over three decades composing in my studio, it’s very meaningful for me to be able to connect with the people who have been listening to my music.”

• Tuesday, July 14 – 19h – Hollywood Night with Carl Davis – Composer Carl Davis will conduct the Czech National Symphony Orchestra at the Municipal House, Smetana Hall in this traditional annual ‘Hollywood Night’ concert, that will close the festival with a program spanning some of the latest soundtracks as well as a retrospective nod to great composers such as Nino Rota, James Horner, and John Barry.
