Tribute concert ‘James Horner: A Life in Music’ in Paris
On Saturday, October 5th, 2019, the tribute concert ‘James Horner: A Life in Music’ will be held at the Le Gand Rex theater in Paris (France).
‘James Horner: A Life In Music’ is a celebration of the composer’s greatest music for film, including the epic scores to Braveheart, Titanic, Glory, Field Of Dreams, Apollo 13, Avatar, and Aliens, featuring exclusive on-screen commentary from James Cameron, Mel Gibson, Jon Landau, Ron Howard, and Sir Richard Eyre.
The concert will be performed by the Sinfonia Pop Orchestra, a philharmonic orchestra with a full choir and solo singers, having a total of over 130 musicians on stage.
James Horner wrote some of the best-known film scores in cinematic history, and during his career composed music for over 100 films. Born on 14 Aug 1953, he tragically died in a plane crash on 22 Jun 2015. He was the worthy winner of two Academy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and twelve Grammy Awards, as well as being nominated for three BAFTAs.
This concert, which was already performed in Lucerne (Switzerland) and London @ Royal Albert Hall in 2017 (read more), is a production of Avex Classics International, and is now presented in Paris by Overlook Events.
