Tribute to John Williams at the Teatro del Soho CaixaBank with the Filarmónica de Málaga and Arturo Díez Boscovich [CANCELLED]

The Soho CaixaBank Theater in Malaga (Spain), has announced that as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of Covid-19, and after the state of alarm communicated by the Central Government, it will keep its facilities closed until further notice, canceling the shows that were scheduled to take place in the coming months.

This includes the 3 film music concerts dedicated to John Williams, to be held on June 26, 27 and 28, performed by the Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga conducted by Arturo Díez Boscovich: the first one dedicated to the music of Star Wars, the second to the Harry Potter and Indiana Jones sagas, and the third one to his extensive work in the cinema and his legacy.

Note that although the dates for the celebration of MOSMA – Movie Score Malaga festival in 2020 haven’t been announced yet, it is usually held during the first week of July, and the cancelation of these 3 concerts in Malaga make us suspect that the festival will suffer the same fate, as it has already happened with other festivals in 2020 (Krakow FMF or Hollywood in Vienna for example).

LAST MINUTE NOTE: As it has been confirmed by conductor Arturo Díez Boscovich, the theatre is waiting for changes in the current situation with the Covid-19 pandemic, in order to set a new date for these concerts, so they would go from being ‘Canceled’ to ‘Postponed’. SoundTrackFest will be watching for more news and will keep you posted.
