The WSA Composition Contest 2024 invites young composers to write music for Nicolas Roeg’s The Witches

Calling all young screen composers! Film Fest Gent & the World Soundtrack Academy are again in search of talented composers, who want to prove themselves on the biggest of platforms: the World Soundtrack Awards.

Are you under 36 and do you have what it takes to be the next winner of our Sabam Award for Best Original Composition by a Young Composer worth €2,500? Then take your shot and participate in our annual WSA Film Music Composition Contest.

This year, we invite composers to write a score for an excerpt from Nicolas Roeg’s 1990 Roald Dahl adaptation The Witches about a young boy who discovers an evil coven of witches. Three finalists will be selected by an international jury and will have their scores performed by the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra at the World Soundtrack Awards Ceremony & Concert on 17 October 2024.
