Get ready for another unforgettable night on 17 October in Ghent and join Film Fest Gent in honouring the legendary American composer James Horner, with the James Horner Tribute Concert. A selection of his work, curated by his friend and colleague (and WSA Discovery of the Year 2023 recipient) Simon Franglen, will be performed by the Brussels Philharmonic, under the baton of maestro Dirk Brossé. The acclaimed American composer James Horner is the focus of this year’s film music concert. Nearly ten years after his tragic passing, Film Fest Gent pays tribute to the genius behind the scores of (among others) Titanic (1997), Avatar (2009), Apollo 13 (1995), A Beautiful Mind (2001) and Legends of the Fall (1994). James Horner composed for some of the biggest names in Hollywood such as Ron Howard, James Cameron and Martin Campbell. With two Academy Awards and countless other accolades to his name, Horner’s impact on the world of cinema is immeasurable. Join us on 17 October 2024 at Muziekcentrum De Bijloke as we will pay tribute to this unforgettable composer. A selection of his work will be performed by the Brussels Philharmonic and conducted by Maestro Dirk Brossé. Longtime colleague, friend of James Horner and WSA Discovery of the Year (2023) Simon Franglen, will assist in curating this selection and will be in attendance.
