XII Edition – Jerry Goldsmith Awards

A new year is coming and BSOSpirit association is organizing the Jerry Goldsmith Awards, which are on their twelfth (XII) edition.

These veterans awards, which have a long and established trajectory through film music festivals such as Ubeda, Cordoba and Malaga (MOSMA), aim to recognize the work of composers in the audiovisual sector (film, television, advertising or other media), especially those who despite having a career, have not obtained the deserved recognition.

 

The registration period is open from today Monday 24th to Sunday 30th of April 2017, an enrollment period bigger than in previous editions, so that both composers and awards jury, have more time for better planning

 

The Jerry Goldsmith Awards are divided in eight categories; music in a long feature, short film, videogame, documentary, television and webseries, advertising and promotion, free original creation and original song, plus a ninth additional category for best composer of each edition, chosen among all participants.

 

The nominees in each category will be announced on 29th and 30th of May 2017, and the final winners will be announced during the Gala Awards Ceremony in MOSMA festival (Movie Score Malaga) to be held from 5 to 9 of July 2017 (link)

 

In previous editions, well-known composers have participated in these awards such as Lucas Vidal, Arnau Bataller, Zeltia Montes, Marc Vaíllo, Zacarías M. de la Riva, Sergio de la Puente, Marc Timón, James Peterson, Stuart Hancock, Aritz Villodas, Neal Acree or Alan Williams, helping in some of these cases to support their promising careers.
