ISFMF 2022 – 10th edition in October – Samobor, Croatia
Tomorrow, October 7th, 2022, starts the 10th edition of the International Sound & Film Music Festival – ISFMF. As we already told you a few months ago, the festival will be celebrated this month of October in Samobor, Croatia (October 7-9) & Paris, France (October 19) (read more).
Let’s have more information about the events happening this weekend:
GUESTS
Composer and director Stephen Warbeck (who won an Oscar for his score to the film Shakespeare in Love) and actor Ciarán Hinds (nominated for an Oscar this year for his role in Belfast, who also starred in films such as Munich, Harry Potter, There Will Be Blood …) will be the main guests of the festival.
In addition, one of the most famous and best French pianists, Jean-Michel Bernard, will attend ISFMF 2022 to perform a concert with film music and, especially, the music of great composer Alfi Kabiljo, who received in 2021 the Crystal Pine for Lifetime Achievement Award. The musical part of the program will be completed with artistic director and composer Ozren K. Glaser, singer-songwriter Elis Lovrić and others.
CONCERTS
The first concert will be on Friday, October 7th at 17:00h at the Small hall of the Prica gallery. Considering that different arts often go hand in hand, the ISFMF will present the symbiosis of music and painting – through the vision of colors on the canvas of the painter Žana Bajić, and with the musical performance of the singer Nera Stipičević, known under the stage name FreeDA Nera Immortelle, and Ozren K. Glaser. Free Entry.
On Saturday, October 8th at 12:00h, the Hollywood Film Music Quartet will perform a free open-air film music concert at the Samobor Plaza Rey Tomislav. The program will feature musical themes from films and series such as Game of Thrones, The Crown, Beauty and the Beast, Gladiator, Lord of the Rings, James Bond: Skyfall, Pirates of the Caribbean, A Star is Born, and many others.
HFMQ are Martina Drakulić (violin), Lara Silvestri Valdevit (violin), Petar Haluza (viola), Lovro Kovačević (cello).
The final concert will be on Sunday, October 9th at 19:00h, and will honor the friendship between 2 countries – France and Croatia by presenting a new film music program: “Jean-Michel Bernard joue la musique Alfi Kabiljo”. The repertoire includes the works of the Croatian composer Alfi Kabiljo, and in the second part, some of the most beautiful themes of world film music.
Along with Jean-Michel Bernard, the guest artists of the program are singer Elis Lovrić, Ozren K. Glaser on piano, Renata Novoseelec on violin and Mimi Marjanović-Gonski on double bass. The event will be attended by Alfi Kabiljo himself, who will be presented with the lifetime achievement award. Jana Haluza will lead the audience through the program of this special musical evening. AWARD CEREMONY
On Saturday, October 8th at 19:00h, Kino Samobor will host the Crystal Pine Award ceremony and the premiere of the movie “The Man in the Hat” (2020, comedy). The event will have a previous interview with actor Ciarán Hinds and director and composer Stephen Warbeck, hosted by singer-songwriter and actress Elis Lovrić.
