The New York Pops 35th Birthday Gala will honor Alan Menken

Next Monday April 30th, 2018, the New York Pops orchestra conducted by Steven Reineke will celebrate its 35th birthday at the Carnegie Hall (New York, USA), with a special gala evening dedicated to the music and figure of Alan Menken, with the composer in attendance.

 

The concert, named ‘Part Of His World: The Songs Of Alan Menken’, will feature notable interpreters performing his beloved songs, with a very big list that keeps growing, including Michael Arden, Roger Bart, Jodi Benson, Ashley Brown, Kerry Butler, Corey Cott, Nick Cordero, Susan Egan, Harvey Fierstein, Cheryl Freeman, James Monroe Iglehart, Adam Jacobs, Judy Kuhn, Patina Miller, Roz Ryan, Vaneese Thomas and Lillias White (it is possible that last minute surprise guest performers appear on stage).

 

The concert will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage of the Carnegie Hall, and will be followed at 8:30 p.m. by a Gala Dinner Dance at Mandarin Oriental New York hotel.
