MOSMA 2017 – Full festival program
UPDATED: 8/1/2017
This Tuesday 20th of June, the full program of the second edition of MOSMA (Movie Score Malaga) festival was presented in a press conference, a festival that will be held in less than two weeks, from 5 to 9 of July 2017 in Malaga.
The program includes many concerts, meetings and signing sessions with the composers, as well as presentations and conferences, but let’s go step by step….
Regarding concerts, as a novelty in relation to what was previously announced, a free pre-inaugural concert has been added, to be held on Tuesday, July 4 at 8:30 pm in the Cathedral of Malaga. In this concert, the Provincial Symphony Orchestra of Malaga, the University Choir and the Pre-university choir of Malaga will perform under the baton of Arturo Díez Boscovich, and with Cristina Gallego as soloist. The program named ”The Sacred and The Divine: Music in religious and spiritual cinema‘ will include pieces from religious and spiritual movies such as ‘King of Kings’, ‘Ben Hur’, ‘The Ten Commandments’ or ‘The Mission’, among others. Access to this concert will be by invitation, which has to be picked up at the Albéniz Cinema.
As a summary, there will be a total of 7 concerts:
For the conferences and meetings with composers, all the composers will have conferences that will be followed by signing sessions, of free access to the public. This eliminates the signing event that was carried out last year on the last day, being a good idea as it avoids problems of availability with the composers who have to leave before that date.
Highlight that to the previously announced guests: Tyler Bates, Mac Quayle, Neal Acree, Víctor Reyes, Rupert Gregson-Williams, David Shire and Trevor Jones, the name of Zacarías M. de la Riva has been added, who will present his soundtrack for Tad Jones 2 in exclusive during the festival.
This is the list of meetings / signing sessions, which will be carried out in the Rossini Hall of Cervantes Theatre:
And this is the list of coffee-meetings, which will also be free access, and that will be held in the library area of the AC Hotel Malaga Palacio:
And to conclude, indicate that as previously announced (read more), the Jerry Goldsmith Awards will be presented during MOSMA in a ceremony to be held on Friday, July 7 at 9 pm at the Echegaray Theater. Tickets, priced at € 10, can be bought through the following link:
