Today, Friday, March 5th, the Focus Festival 2021 will kick off in Madrid, Spain, offering a look at the music of the 1950s in Spain, combining the history and culture of a decade that marked ‘Spain’s musical awakening after years of isolation’.

 

The first concert, which will include a work by maestro Antón García Abril, will be held today at 7:30 pm at the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, and will be performed given by the OCNE – Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España conducted by David Afkham, with the participation of the mezzo-soprano Nancy Fabiola Herrera.

 

The program will be as follows:

  • ANTÓN GARCÍA ABRIL – Concierto para instrumentos de arco
  • XAVIER MONTSALVATGE – Cinco canciones negras (versión para voz y orquesta)
  • ÍGOR STRAVINSKI – Sinfonía de los salmos
