5th Edition of the Gil Soundtrack Award – International Soundtrack Competition (2024)
The Gil Soundtrack Award competition celebrates its 5th edition this year. Created in 2016, Gil Soundtrack Award is an internationally consolidated biennial competition created and organized by the Viñas Familia Gil winery group, to encourage and support young composers from 18 up to 35 years old in their studies and career.
The contest awards 50.000 euros to a single winner and to get it, participants have to create a soundtrack for the short film ‘Off-wine, la inteligencia puede ser artificial, la tierra no / Off-wine, intelligence can be artificial, the earth, cannot ’, 7:01 minutes long.
The jury of this edition is chaired by Esther García Rodríguez, Executive Producer of El Deseo, winner of 3 Goya awards as Production Director. A committee formed by experts will select 6 works that will be evaluated by the Jury. The identity of the Selection Committee will remain anonymous until the end of the competition. Both the Selection Committee and the Jury will be composed of relevant personalities from the world of music. In previous editions, composers Patrick Doyle, Bruce Broughton, Hildur Guðnadóttir, and Alejandro Amenabar were part of the Jury.
The deadline for submission is July 17, 2024 at 16:00h. The Jury’s decision will be announced on October 24, 2024. All information about the competition is available at www.gilsoundtrack.com.
