Apulia Soundtrack Awards – 4th edition – First guests and concerts

The Apulia Soundtrack Awards, which will celebrate its 4th edition from July 4-6 in the lovely city of Carovigno, Puglia, south of Italy, have announced the first guests and concerts of this year. The festival will have composers Anne Dudley & Carlo Crivelli, masterclass maestros Luis Ivars & Denis Furne, and film music specialists Massimo Privitera (Colonnesonore.net) & Gorka Oteiza (SoundTrackFest), among others.

Paolo Lepore (conductor of the Jazz Studio Orchestra in Bari) will lead his big band orchestra and will play and honor the James Bond composers and songwriters, among them John Barry, Henri Mancini, Paul McCartney.

(Carovigno – Apulia, Italy MAY 2ND, 2025) The Apulia Soundtrack Awards & Festival returns for a fourth edition to celebrate legends, premier composers, and award the finest creators of music for film on July 4 – 6.

 

– Academy winner Anne Dudley will receive a Career Achievement Award. Ann Dudley counts many soundtracks among them “The Crying game” or “Full Monty” which earn her an Academy Award. She also composed the recent Italian/British series “Signora Volpe” with Italian actor Giovani Cirfiera, who will be present for her award. Ann Dudley is also the composer and founder of the famous band “Art of Noise.”

 

– Another special Career achievement Award will be presented to Italian, Di Donatello Award composer Carlo Crivelli. During the Awards ceremony, a special tribute will feature his soundtrack “Sangue del Mio Sangue”, “Vincere” or “Devil in Flesh.” He received the Ennio Morricone Award for best composer of the film Sleeping Beauty by Marco Bellocchio. Crivelli also founded the Orchestra “Città Aperta” for the recording of soundtracks.

 

– Maestro Paolo Lepore (conductor of the Jazz Studio Orchestra in Bari). His big band orchestra will play and honor the James Bond composers and songwriters, among them John Barry, Henri Mancini, Paul McCartney. Before his amazing career as conductor, Maestro Lepore was Nino Rota’s student at the Bari Conservatory.

 

– During the festival, a “Major Contribution to the Art of Film Music and Sound award” will also be given to an important member of the film music world.

 

– An Apulia Soundtrack awards will be presented to Composer of the year (Italy) and Composer of the year (International). Each composer who represents the best soundtrack and song composed for a film this year, will be announced during the award ceremony on July 6.

 

– During the Awards ceremony we will have a special moment with Academy Awards winners and members with accomplished musicians Vincenzo Cipriani and Marco Schiavone, renowned pianist and cellist. Thanks to a new collaboration with Parsifal APS, an organization dedicated to promoting contemporary and original music in South Italia.

 

– The “Emerging composer of the year”, will be given to one of the ten composers in competition. After four years the festival helped 60 composers to emerge, with the summer and winter class. This year the Masterclass will be supervised by long time international publisher and producer Denis Furne and partner with his company EMF of the Apulia Soundtrack Awards since 2023. Luis Ivars, from the European Alliance and Songwriter Alliance (ECSA) will be part of the masterclass.

 

– Following his international acclaim at the Emmy Awards, renowned Italian chef Augusto Pasini will take center stage once again at the Apulia Soundtrack Awards with the support of the Franciacorta Consortium. Chef Pasini will host an exclusive welcome dinner for international guests—among them Oscar-winning composers and members—in the charming setting of a traditional Apulian masseria.

 

– Apulia Soundtrack Awards will be hosted by radio Ciccio Riccio Presenter Marcello Biscosi. Soundtrack specialist and journalist Gorka Oteiza (Spain) and Massimo Priviteva (Italy), will cover the festival day by day.

Last year, Pino Donaggio and Diane Warren won the career achievement award. Franco Piersanti won the Italian composer of the year award and Daniel Pemberton won the international composer of the year award with “Spiderverse”. Ray Costa (Soundtrack Award advisor) received the award for Best contribution for the art of Film score.

 

The years before Justin Hurwitz (Lalaland), Howard Shore (lords of the Rings), Sally Stevens (Oscars singer and producer), Simon Franglen (Avatar), Fabio Massimo Capogrosso (Esterno Note), Jean Michel Bernard (Science of Sleep), Sean Callery (Homeland), were awarded from the festival. Lalo Schifrin, and Claudia Cardinale are considered like the godfather and godmother of the festival.
