FIMUCINEMA, the official competition section of Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ), under the coordination of Manuel Díaz Noda, has selected a total of 21 short films, 6 documentaries and 6 fiction feature films, among the works included on its 6th edition, which come from places like Spain, United States, France, United Kingdom, Italy, Colombia or Poland.
These works will compete for the best original score awards in their respective categories (Alex North Award for Best Soundtrack in fiction feature, and the Fimucinema Awards for the best original score for documentary, short film, and best original song).
The jury responsible for evaluating these works will be formed by Darío Palomo (composer and president of the Association of Music Composers for Audiovisual: Musimagen), as president of the jury, Antonio Herrera (director of MICA), Pedro Ferrer (CEO of the publishing house and record label specialized in soundtracks Ediciones Rosetta) and Lamberto Guerra (actor, director, and musician, winner of the Fimucinema Award for Best Original Song in 2016).
The activities of FIMUCINEMA will start on September 21st with a special selection not in competition of the main works submitted to the Astronomical Film Festival of La Palma (MICA), being then the rest of the competition works projected at Multicines Tenerife, on the 22nd and 23rd of September, and at the TEA Tenerife Space of the Arts, from 24 to 27. The entrance to all the screenings is free until full capacity is reached.
