FIMUCITÉ 12 – Changes in the concert ‘Colossus of the Silver Screen’

The Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ), which celebrates this year its 12th edition, has just announced that has been forced to change the date of the concert ‘Colossus of the Silver Screen’, for reasons unavoidable and unrelated to the organization.

The concert, which was originally announced for Thursday 27th at the Guimerá Theater, will be held on Sunday, September 30th at 7:00 p.m. in the same place (tickets on sale at the theater box office and at http://TomaTicket.es).

The concert, which involves student musicians as part of the FIMUCITÉ Youth Symphony Orchestra led by José Antonio Cubas, will perform soundtracks from some of the mythical beasts of the cinema, from King Kong to Godzilla, giving also a look to the dinosaurs of ‘Jurassic Park’ and ‘The Valley of Gwangi’, offering music from composers such as John Barry, John Williams, Mario Nascimbene, Ramin Djawadi or Jerome Moross.

This event is part of a joint project of FIMUCITÉ and its counterpart in Krakow, the Krakow Film Music Festival (FMF), which consists of the exchange of members of their respective young orchestras. At the end of May, 4 young musicians traveled from Tenerife to Krakow, and now it is the Polish festival the one that will have four of its musicians participating in the concert ‘Colossus of the Silver Screen’.

Remember that the morning function scheduled for Thursday 27th at 10:30 am, aimed for the school public, will be maintained and will be held at the Antonio Lecuona Auditorium.
