The Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ) continues working on its 14th edition, scheduled from Friday 18 to Sunday 27 September 2020 (read more), and today in a press conference, has premiered its program.

As the main course of the festival, we will have two concerts entitled ‘We Are The Resistance: Money Heist In Concert’, by the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra conducted by Diego Navarro. These concerts will take place on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th of September at the Auditorio de Tenerife, with the presence of the composers Manel Santisteban and Iván Martínez Lacámara, and the singer Cecilia Krull, who will perform on stage the popular main song of the series, ‘My life is going on’.

Additionally, the festival will hold the following concerts:

  • Friday 18 and Saturday 19/09/2020 – Opening concert – ‘Cotton Club Diva’

The singer Esther Ovejero and jazz music will be the protagonists, through an unprecedented program, of songs that have been performed in the cinema by great music divas. This concert will be held on Friday 18th at the Teatro Leal in La Laguna and on Saturday 19th at the Teatro Guiniguada in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

  • Saturday 19/09/2020 – ‘Scorsese After Hours’

The Pop Culture Band returns this year, and does so with a selection of songs that the Oscar-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese has used in some of the most famous sequences of his filmography. The Teatro Guimerá in Santa Cruz de Tenerife will be the venue where the energetic group led by Gonzalo de Araoz will perform the program.

  • Thursday 24/09/2020 – ‘Cinemass’

The Polyphonic Choir of the University of La Laguna will offer a recital of choral pieces that have been part of unforgettable films: from ‘Gabriel’s Oboe’, from the soundtrack composed by the legendary Ennio Morricone for ‘The Mission’, to key themes from ‘The Chorus’, by Bruno Coulais. This concert is an original co-production of FIMUCITÉ, the Krakow Film Music Festival, and Soundtracks Live.

On Saturday 26th, and before the second concert of ‘Money Heist’, the award ceremony of the 3rd Spanish Audiovisual Music Awards will take place at the Auditorio de Tenerife, organized by Musimagen (Asociación de Compositores de Música para Audiovisual – Association of Music Composers for the Audiovisual), in collaboration with FIMUCITÉ (read more).

The winners in the different categories (orchestral score, electroacoustic score, original score for series and original score for advertising) will be announced on August 3rd and will be part of the guests of the festival, together with Dario Palomo, president of Musimagen.

The theme of the world of comics and their superheroes, which was planned to be the focus of this year’s FIMUCITÉ, has been postponed until 2021, to celebrate its influence and great contribution to the audiovisual sector as it deserves, with a magnificent repertoire of scores that have made history.
