On Thursday, January 28th, a new festival was announced: the 1st edition of FIMUCS – Festival Internacional de Música de Cine Sevilla – Seville International Film Music Festival (read more).

 

Organized by the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla – ROSS, Loyola University, the promoter Sevilla Film Orchestra, and SoundTrackFest, the festival will be held from March 4 to 7, 2021 in Seville, Spain, offering 3 concerts, master classes/conferences, meetings between film directors and composers, and more than 10 guest composers.

Thursday 4/3/2021 – 20:00h – Tribute to John Williams – Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts 2020

Concert to be held at the Cartuja Center Cite performed by the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla – ROSS conducted by Alfonso Casado.

 

The first part of the concert will feature the music of the composers invited to the festival: Arturo Cardelús, Pascal Gaigne, Pablo Cervantes, Luis Ivars & Sergio Moure de Oteyza.

 

The second part of the concert will be dedicated to the music of John Williams with the following movies: Jaws, Indiana Jones, Memoirs of a Geisha, Angela’s Ashes, Jurassic Park, and Star Wars.

 

Estimated duration of the concert: 1 hour without intermission.

Friday 5/3/2021 – 20:00h – Tribute to Ennio Morricone – Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts 2020

Concert to be held at the Cartuja Center Cite performed by the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla – ROSS conducted by Iván Palomares.

 

The first part of the concert will feature the music of the composers invited to the festival: Iván Martínez Lacámara, Manel Santisteban, Iván Palomares, Vanessa Garde, Zacarías Martínez de la Riva & Manel Gil-Inglada.

 

The second part of the concert will be dedicated to the music of Ennio Morricone with the following movies: Tie me Up! Tie me Down!, The Hateful Eight, Once Upon a Time in the West, Malena, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly & The Mission.

 

Program in collaboration with the European FilmPhilharmonic Institute. Estimated duration of the concert: 1 hour without intermission.

Sunday 7/3/2021 – 12:00h – The Music of Nino Rota

Concert to be celebrated at the Espacio Turina performed by the teachers of the ROSS: Claudia Medina Riera, Robert L. Thompson, Juan Ronda Molina, Miguel Domínguez Infante, Daniela Iolkicheva, Auxiliadora Gil.

 

The concert will be dedicated to the music of Nino Rota and will include the following pieces: Serenade for clarinet and piano in D major. Trio for flute, violin and piano. Sonata for flute and harp. Trio for clarinet, cello and piano.
