George Fenton will conduct his music in London
Under the title “George Fenton: The Lady in the Van and Other Stories,” British composer George Fenton will head the Philharmonia Orchestra next Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Royal Festival Hall in London to conduct monographic concert of his music.
Although most of the concert will focus mainly on the music of the film The Lady in the Van (2015), it will feature music from other well-known films such as Anna and the King (1999), Memphis Belle (1990) or Land and Freedom (1995), his music for the theater play Untold Stories (2013), and the world premiere of the score written for the IMAX documentary movie Predators (2015) directed by Alastair Fothergill.
The author and writer Alan Bennett, whose autobiographical work was adapted for the film The Lady in the Van, will present the concert and will read extracts from the play Untold Stories. The pianist Clare Hammond will also take part in the evening, especially in the suite of The Lady in The Van, and throughout the event excerpts from the films and videos will be projected on a screen about the orchestra.
